Russell Kerkhoven (1958) is a process consultant who designed and facilitated numerous local, national and international policy development processes. Educated in social anthropology, sociology and change management he has a increasingly adopted a strength based focus as opposed to a deficit orientation. As a consultant practitioner he explores the value of professional and citizens knowledge and experience and the development of civic voice and space. He has developed numerous practitioner based guides and handbooks on the role of NGOs; collaboration; area focussed planning; exiting and terminating funding relations. As a consultant practitioner he focusses on the value of professional and citizens knowledge and experience and the development of civic voice and space. Social learning, learning from and in practice are recurring areas of focus and interest. He is intrigued by the possibilities and development of social media as part of learning, consulting and process design. Blogging is part of his reflective practice.
